The brand that I have chosen is Nike. The reason I decided to chose this brand is because even though it is a huge brand that is very well known for their quality products, I only recently have shown interest in the brand and have started to purchase their gear. In Nike's recent posts on Instagram they have been highlighting women sports and women athletes. Nike is doing this to promote women's sports and people are reacting positively to it.

Nike's value proposition is accessibility, innovation, and customization.

In this specific Nike post about a women's basketball player Catlin Clark, she is posing and the caption "you break it, you own it" is placed above her, implying that she has broken a record. She is also wearing all Nike gear. This post has a lot of positive feedback such as "such a good tagline. well done. Historic moment" by "yesthatjian", "she is that girl" by "katiemoeee", and "please tell me you're selling this shirt?!" by "izporterreckman"

Nike is trying to promote women's sports while also promoting their product. The ypost a picture of a women's basketball player in all Nike gear that broke a world record. This is trying to promote many messages. When you wear Nike you can break records. Anyone can wear Nike. This makes people want to purchase Nike gear because it makes them believe that it will make them the best version of themselves.

Nike is trying to tell a story of this girl that is making history and they are a big brand and can spread the word easily. They want to send a good message and show the world how special this event was, but she is also wearing Nike which promotes the brand. Nike's PR representative also goes through and likes the comments that are super positive which makes more people want to comment positive things making outsiders more likely to support the brand when they see all these positive comments. Nike has reached a point at which they are never going to go downhill, so now instead of shoving BUY OUR PRODUCT down people's throat, they are just trying to subtly put their discreet logo everywhere so it is seen more to build the brand recognition. Nike is very much succeeding in this strategy and are dominating the sportswear industry.

In some of the other posts Nike would personally respond to some of the comments to reach back out to the community, but in this post they would go through and like the comments that were heartwarming and had the little "liked by author" message so that everyone can see. This is a good decision on Nike's part because it shows the community that they care about their supporters.

If I was the brand manager in this situation, I would 100% continue what they are doing. Nike has become so successful that now they are not necessarily focused on making money, now they are in it to send a message and help out their community. If I were in their shoes, I would maybe hire some more PR reps to respond to even more people to show a little more attentiveness, but I believe they are killing the game right now.

What I learned from this assignment, is that Nike seems to really care about their community and actually wants to help people out in achieving their dreams. Nike also stays true to their value proposition in creating quality products.
